I am delighted we chose this quaint little cottage bang in the centre of everything that is happening in Whitby - its location is perfect. The incredible history and character prevail - it is immaculate from top to bottom and has everything you need. The booking process was also easy, and communication with the owner was excellent. I recommend this quirky little cottage for your short stay in Whitby. Please note the tight spiral stairs may not be suitable for some. 5 stars excellent.

Beautifully peaceful cottage within yards of the bustling centre. Would not hesitate to recommend this to friends and family!! This is definitely as good a cottage as we have ever stayed in!!

A lockdown find that has become a firm family favourite. It is the perfect location, so quiet and secluded despite being only footsteps back from one of the main Whitby thoroughfares. A comfortable, well equipped cottage, lovely patio area also. Easy walking distance to the pier, the beach and the Abbey. Would highly recommend.

We had a most enjoyable week staying in 4 Clarks Yard. A lovely cosy cottage, full of character and well kitted out. A nice quiet street, but right in the centre of Whitby. A pretty courtyard garden. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Whitby.

We also had a very lovely time here. Cottage was the perfect size and bedrooms very generous. Bathroom was very quirky with a loads of drawers and cupboards everywhere and most importantly best rain shower ever! Such a central spot in town and the sunny garden was also well used. We love everything about 4 Clarks Yard ; the location is excellent, the cottage cosy, clean, well equipped and quirky and the beds very comfy. We missed last New Year’s Eve due to Covid and we were so happy to be back. Wonderful accommodation in a great holiday resort.

This was our first stay at 4 Clarks Yard, but we certainly hope it won’t be our last. The property is centrally located in the heart of old Whitby, with easier access to drop off luggage than you might expect. The cottage itself has a welcoming traditional feel, is stylish, well-equipped, comfortable and WARM (an important consideration at the beginning of this December). We enjoyed exceptionally clear and timely communications from the owners, David and Alison, and only wished we could have stayed longer.

Stayed here for 2 weeks. Lovely cottage with mixture of rustic charm and modern amenities. Well equipped with everything you would need. Outside area to sit out is a big bonus with the lovely sunny weather of June.
Location is perfect. Quiet old street but down short, sheltered alleyway straight on to the hustle and bustle of everything you could want in Whitby - pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes on the doorstep and then short walk to all the charm of this old seaside town. Beautiful evening sunsets over the harbour.
David and Alison couldn't be more helpful. Would recommend this property to anyone and look forward to staying again.

We have just spent another week in Clarks Yard our 5th or 6th visit and found it as welcoming as our other stays. The cottage was warm, clean, comfortable and homely, situated perfectly for local amenities and lovely walks. A delightful place to stay will return in the near future. Thank you David and Alison.

Lovely little cottage, well-equipped and Clark's Yard was an unexpected haven of calm in the centre of Whitby. The outside seating area was a very pleasant bonus.

Cosy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Our stay was great with everything we needed and the courtyard for sitting outside with a glass of wine was a bonus. Location of the house was excellent for shops and restaurants. Whilst it was a walk to park the car in a parking zone it was not a problem. The new shower and refurbished bathroom was lovely.

A lovely cosy cottage and perfectly situated. Felt like a quiet hideaway but just yards from the heart of the town. Close to all shops, cafés and restaurants. Nice and clean and had everything we needed. Extremely helpful owner and the welcome pack was a lovely surprise.
